An early morning collision in Jurupa Valley has resulted in the arrest of a local man on multiple charges, including gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. As reported by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the scene at Limonite Avenue and Beach Street around 2:50 a.m. Saturday, to discover a van and another vehicle obstructing eastbound traffic following the crash.
Tragedy struck as authorities found two passengers from the van dead at the scene, with several others, including the drivers of both vehicles, suffering injuries and transported to local hospitals. It was noted by authorities, as stated in KTLA, that the van contained multiple unrestrained passengers at the time of the incident. The two deceased individuals' identities remain undisclosed, pending notification of next of kin.
The van’s driver, identified as 23-year-old Bryan Cruz-Arenas of Jurupa Valley, now faces serious legal consequences. According to CBS News Los Angeles, Cruz-Arenas has been booked on suspicion of two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and one count of driving under the influence causing death/injury. The collision prompted a blockage on Limonite Avenue, which lasted until approximately 11:55 a.m. as investigators analyzed the scene and gathered evidence.
