A burglary crew was arrested following a high-speed pursuit by the LA IMPACT task force, as confirmed in a Facebook post by the LAPD Headquarters. The suspects were caught after a diligent surveillance operation tied them to a series of commercial burglaries in the city.
On June 26, LA IMPACT units identified a white BMW and a silver Audi, both vehicles suspected of being involved in the criminal activities. These cars were equipped with cold plates - a tactic used to thwart identification. The suspects were tracked down to West LA, where they brazenly broke into a residence on Mandeville Canyon Road. After the burglary, they were seen fleeing the scene with stolen items, which led to a chase initiated by LAPD officers.
The pursuit concluded tragically for the thieves when they crashed into a tree in Santa Monica. An attempt to escape on foot by two of the suspects was foiled as they were apprehended shortly after the accident. The driver of the Audi was also arrested without incident. The apprehended individuals had a known history of burglary and other serious offenses, which contributed to the determination of the law enforcement team to capture them.
Following the arrests, officers have successfully recovered the stolen property and impounded both vehicles associated with the crimes. "Outstanding work by the LA IMPACT team and @lapdwestla," praised the LAPD's official social media account. All three suspects are now booked and face charges for their involvement in the burglary spree.
