Earlier this morning, the Los Angeles Fire Department successfully extinguished a fire in a North Hollywood apartment building, as reported by LAFD ALERT. Firefighters were called to the scene at a two-story, garden-style apartment located at 10808 W Victory Bl. The blaze, which was contained within a unit on the second floor, was put out swiftly by 38 firefighters in a mere 13 minutes.
The fire department was alerted to the incident at 7:02 A.M., and by 7:15 A.M., reports confirmed that the fire had been extinguished. The efforts of LAFD personnel ensured that the fire did not spread beyond the unit of origin. Despite the potential for greater damage, no other residents were harmed, and one patient, after being assessed on-site, declined LAFD transport for further medical evaluation. This information was detailed in a release on the LAFD's official website.
Fire Station 60, together with several other units, including Battalion 14 and the Valley Bureau, were involved in the rapid response. The coordination of multiple units, such as trucks T60 and T89, engines E289, E60, E77, E86, E89, and rescue ambulances RA102, RA77, and RA889 played a critical role in the operation's success. Battalion Chiefs from BC10 and BC14 were also on the scene to oversee the firefighting efforts. The incident took place in Council District 2 and was managed under the command of Channel 8 and Dispatch 17, reflecting a well-orchestrated response by the LAFD.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, as the LAFD works to understand the origins of this incident.
