The City of Las Vegas is rolling out an opportunity for its locals to get an inside look at their police force. Set to run from August 27 through November 12, the Citizens Police Academy will invite residents to immerse themselves in the intricacies of law enforcement over the course of Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. According to a bulletin released by the City of Las Vegas, the program is free of charge and aims to broadly educate community members on a range of topics from patrol operations to animal protection.
Those interested in the program should meet certain criteria: they ought to live or work within the city limits of Las Vegas, be at least 18 years of age, and must bear no history of felony, gross misdemeanor, or misdemeanor convictions. The application process is straightforward – potential attendees have up to August 3 to apply online and secure a spot. The bulletin explicitly states that space will indeed be limited.
Residents with questions about the city's law enforcement services can contact Jaclyn Archambault at 702-229-5913 or by email at [email protected]. The Department of Public Safety encourages community engagement to promote transparency and understanding.
