Residents of Loveland Heights can breathe a sigh of relief as the significant infrastructure work that's been ongoing at Cherokee Drive and West Main Street is finally complete. The City of Loveland announced the completion of a crucial project that involved major upgrades to the neighborhood's water distribution system, effectively ending months of construction and traffic detours.

The extensive work, carried out by the city's contractor, Majors Enterprises, saw the installation of an impressive 1,800 feet of new storm line. Having struggled with site constraints and the need to relocate utilities owned by third parties, the contractor managed to stay on track, keeping the disturbances to a minimum for local residents. Over 3,000 feet of the new water main now lie buried along with new water services, valves, and hydrants.

According to a City of Loveland release, the project also saw the addition of new catch basins and one new manhole, topped off with roadway restoration and improvements to the sidewalks. This comes as part of the city's ongoing investment in its water distribution system, ensuring better service and reliability for the community.

The entire endeavor was completed at a cost of around $1.5 million, sticking to the budget despite the complexities involved. The City of Loveland expressed its appreciation for the residents' patience during the construction, thanking them for their cooperation. They also acknowledged the support from the Ohio Public Works Commission and Congressman Greg Landsman, who played a pivotal role in funding the improvements.
