
Early this morning, Capitol Hill was the scene of a violent altercation that ended with a man being shot. Seattle police responded to a call outside of a bar on East Pike Street. According to the Seattle Police Department's blotter, the incident occurred at around 12:15 a.m. and left a 29-year-old man with a serious gunshot wound in the abdomen.
The officers found the man near the intersection of Union Street and Boren Ave and administered first aid. Seattle Fire Department arrived shortly after to continue medical treatment and transport the victim to Harborview Medical Center. Their current condition has been described as serious. Witnesses described an escalation from a fight disturbance involving multiple individuals outside the bar to the suspect drawing a firearm and shooting the victim, as reported by the Seattle Police Department.
After the incident, the suspect—whose details are still unknown—escaped by car. No arrests have been made yet, and police are still searching. The reason for the fight and shooting remains unclear, as per the Seattle Police Department.
