
Seattle's Chinatown-International District became the focal point of another violent incident this week, when a man was shot in the leg during the late afternoon hours. According to KOMO News, the Seattle Police Department is actively searching for the individual responsible for the shooting, which occurred at the intersection of 12th and Jackson.
The episode took place in broad daylight, stirring unease among local residents and business owners in the area. One proprietor, in expressing his concern about the ongoing struggle with violence near his establishment, said, "he didn't see what happened, but made it clear he's fed up with the violence near his restaurant," according to the same KOMO News report. Meanwhile, details regarding the motive behind the incident, or whether it was a random or a targeted attack, remain unclear.
In line with the reported time of the crime, KIRO 7 noted that the shooting occurred near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street at around 4:50 p.m. The victim was found with serious injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. As of this publication, there has been no update on his condition.
Following the sound of gunfire, officers conducted a search of the surrounding area, but failed to locate any suspects or make any arrests, as per the information given by the FOX 13 Seattle report.
