The Manteca Police Department partnered with the Manteca Unified School District to host this year's Jr. Police Academy. The two-week program was designed to teach local youth about law enforcement through practical exercises and training sessions. A social media post from the department stated that the program included fingerprint lifting, formation drills, and mock traffic stops where students practiced their newly learned skills, as reported by the Manteca Police Department.
Specific recognition was given to School Resource Officer Skrimager for leading a staged traffic stop, which allowed participants to apply newly learned techniques. The Manteca Police Department stated in a Facebook post, "This impactful program wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of the Police Chiefs Foundation and our ongoing partnership with the Manteca Unified School District."
The Jr. Police Academy provided students with a behind-the-scenes look at police work and introduced them to potential careers in law enforcement. The program was supported by the Police Chiefs Foundation and held in collaboration with the Manteca Unified School District. According to the Manteca Police Department on their Facebook page, "Thank you for helping us make this experience a memorable one for all involved!"
