The Maui Police Department’s Mobile Medical Education Unit was at Kalama Park in Kihei on Monday to provide services for the houseless community. The initiative offered mental health support, food stamps, non-critical wound care, clothing, and other resources, as reported by the Maui Police Department.

Several community partners joined an outreach program to support the houseless community. The Maui AIDS Foundation distributed food, hygiene kits, personal care items to 20 individuals, and gave two free STD tests. The Maui Humane Society also took part by providing food, dog toys, collars, leashes, and harnesses for the pets of those in need, as stated by the Maui Police Department.

According to the Maui Police Department on their Facebook page, local groups are providing support for people experiencing homelessness in Maui. The Mobile Medical Education Unit is offering services at Kalama Park from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. throughout July. The program aims to give regular help, including healthcare, to those in need.
