
The Maui Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in an armed robbery. The incident happened last Saturday around 9:12 a.m. at the Bank of Hawaii on South Kihei Road in Kihei. The suspect displayed a handgun and a strobe-mode flashlight, told everyone inside to get down, and took an unknown amount of money from a bank teller, as reported by the Maui Police Department.
He is described as a Caucasian man, about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build. He was armed with a handgun and wearing a tan camouflage hoodie, black pants, a grey hat, black sunglasses, a white mask, and black shoes with white soles. After the robbery, he fled on foot toward Uluniu Road, as stated by the Maui Police Department.
According to the Maui Police Department on their Facebook page, they are investigating an incident involving a suspect last seen wearing a tan hoodie and camouflage. Surveillance footage captured the suspect’s last known direction. Police have not released information about the amount stolen or the condition of those involved. The suspect remains at large.
