For many Michigan families, the annual pilgrimage to Muskegon's Michigan's Adventure for the "Tricks and Treats" Halloween festivity will have to take a detour this year. According to FOX 17, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, which owns Michigan's Adventure, has decided to abruptly end the park's 2025 season on September 1, a full two months ahead of schedule. This strategic shift aims to concentrate efforts on providing exceptional visits during the high-traffic spring and summer months.
This decision marks a sharp pivot from the park's traditional offerings, having been slated previously to entertain guests through October. Season passholders, who were notified on July 21, must now quickly adapt their fall plans. In an attempt to appease these passholders, Six Flags is offering a free ticket to visit Cedar Point, another property in the Six Flags portfolio, anytime before its season ends on November 1, as reported by WZZM13. Cedar Point is located in Sandusky, Ohio, notorious for its HalloWeekends during October.
The move away from fall festivities comes despite "Tricks and Treats" enjoying only a short two-season run in 2023 and 2024. The event had allowed season pass holders free admission to enjoy a select number of rides and Halloween-themed fare. As per MLive, from an email sent to passholders conveyed, “After much research and planning, we’ve made the strategic decision to focus on delivering exceptional experiences during our core operating seasons, spring and summer.”
