
As the National Weather Service in Milwaukee reports an overcast sky with current temperatures at 63°F and humidity levels reaching 84%, locals can expect the day to gradually clear up. According to the NWS, patchy drizzle will subside before 8 a.m., leading to a high near 69°F with the wind shifting from northwest to northeast in the afternoon. Tonight, the skies will remain mostly clear with temperatures dropping to around 59°F.
Looking ahead, Friday is expected to be sunny with a high near 76°F. Showers and thunderstorms may develop Friday night, continuing into the weekend with a 40 percent chance of rain and possible storms. The NWS in Milwaukee notes that a south wind at 5 to 10 mph will accompany the rising likelihood of precipitation.
Meanwhile, a beach hazards statement has been issued, cautioning against life-threatening waves and currents along Lake Michigan's shores. "Life threatening waves of 3 to 5 feet and dangerous currents are expected," warns the NWS. Beachgoers are urged to follow safety advisories by staying out of the water and away from hazardous areas such as piers and breakwalls. Residents and visitors in Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha Counties should exercise extra caution, as the advisory remains in effect through late tonight.
As next week begins, unsettled weather is expected to continue with scattered thunderstorms and showers. There is a 40 percent chance of precipitation on Monday, decreasing to 20 percent by Tuesday, when temperatures are forecast to reach a high of 86°F. By Wednesday, temperatures may rise to around 89°F, but the chance of showers and thunderstorms remains.
