Following an unsettling discovery in Panola County back in May, a recent DNA test has confirmed that human remains found by a dog belong to Larry James Robinson Jr., a Batesville resident who had been missing since January of this year, the Panola County Sheriff's Office shared information that on May 28 a call led deputies to Barnacre Road where the gruesome find was made; this development brings a sorrowful closure to the months of uncertainty faced by Robinson's family, WREG reports.
The state medical examiner's office conducted tests on the recovered remains, providing the necessary confirmation that they indeed matched the DNA of the 47-year-old man who had last been seen alive on January 22, despite the previous search efforts that had turned up empty on the very road where the discovery was later made, according to the account documented by Action News 5.
The investigation remains ongoing as the sheriff's office and other agencies aim to unravel the circumstances of Robinson's disappearance and death. Rosetta Robinson, Larry's mother, had expressed their close relationship and how her son would always make a point to visit her, as she recounted to WREG.
