Clay County drivers should be aware that the Missouri Department of Transportation is resurfacing MO Route A from south of 112th Street to MO-92 near Kearney. Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their commute. According to MoDOT, this resurfacing project kicked off recently and will run until the middle of August, with lane closures and flagging in effect daily from the early bird hour of 6 a.m. until the dinner-time hour of 7 p.m.
The daily grind through these work zones is more than a mere inconvenience; it's a reminder to dial back the speed and dial-up awareness—these zones might change shape day by day, morphing from striping jobs to patchwork, to the occasional debris removal operation, MoDOT reminds motorists to "slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones," and remember, not all work zones look alike, they can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing, they can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
