
Nevada Task Force 1 is heading to Texas to assist with search and rescue operations after recent flooding in Kerr County. The team includes 47 members and four K9s, made up of local emergency responders with various skills, including paramedics and a structural engineer. The Clark County Government announced that the team is scheduled to leave on Tuesday evening, according to the Clark County.
Nevada Task Force 1 prepared to leave quickly for Texas, bringing together members from the Clark County Fire Department, Boulder City Fire Department, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, Henderson Fire Department, and North Las Vegas Fire Department. The team brought specialized equipment and vehicles, including pickup trucks and 18-wheelers, to support relief efforts after the natural disaster.
The Clark County Fire Department sponsors Nevada’s only Urban Search and Rescue Team, Nevada Task Force 1, which is funded by Federal Emergency Management Agency. The team is being sent to flood-affected areas in San Antonio, with all costs covered by Federal Emergency Management Agency. Nevada Task Force 1 includes members from different agencies and is expected to arrive on Wednesday to begin rescue and recovery operations.
