Denver is gearing up for a night with one of music's most enduring icons as Paul McCartney returns to Colorado for a much-anticipated concert. The former Beatle and Wings frontman is slated to perform at Coors Field on Saturday, October 11, as part of his "Got Back" tour, which is his first venture across North American soil since 2022. As per 9NEWS, McCartney's tour will kick off on September 29 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California, and conclude with a final show on November 25 at the United Center in Chicago.
In anticipation of the event, fans will see Union Station in Denver lit up, in a special display by AEG, from July 11 to 13 between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m., to pay homage to McCartney's storied career. The rocker's last appearance in Denver was back in 2010, when he played at the venue then known as the Pepsi Center, but is now Ball Arena. This was reported by the Denver Post, which also referred to McCartney as the 'cute' Beatle in a nostalgic nod to the group's early days.
McCartney isn't hitting the road alone, he'll be joined by his seasoned tour band which includes Paul "Wix" Wickens playing keyboards, Brian Ray on bass/guitar, Rusty Anderson on the guitar, Abe Laboriel Jr behind the drums, and the Hot City Horns, comprising of Mike Davis on trumpet, Kenji Fenton on saxes, and Paul Burton on trombone.
