
Philadelphia police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down suspects involved in a mass shooting that left three people dead and nine others wounded in the city’s 17th District. In the early hours of July 7, gunfire erupted on the 1500 block of S. Etting Street, and authorities were called to the scene shortly before 1 a.m. Among those killed were Zahir Wylie, 23, Jason Reese, 19, and Azir Harris, 24, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
Investigators released video footage of the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The casualties of the shooting were extensive; victims' injuries ranged from gunshot wounds to the chest, head, back, and limbs. One individual among the wounded is a 19-year-old male who is in critical condition after being transferred to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. A 21-year-old male was shot in the buttocks and ankle, and a 23-year-old female sustained multiple wounds. Two teenagers, aged 17 and 15, are also among the injured, according to a statement obtained by the Philadelphia Police Department.
The Homicide Unit is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case. As the community reels from this senseless violence, the police emphasize the importance of community assistance in solving this crime.
