Philadelphia police are on the lookout for a suspect involved in the burglary of Swan Caterers earlier this month, a break-in notable for the hours spent and the disarray left behind, despite the absence of theft. Officials say the incident occurred on July 6, around 11:30 a.m. at the catering business located at 2015 S. Water Street.
Surveillance footage captured the suspect entering through a side storm door, following which they embarked on a long-duration intrusion that stretched into the early hours of the next day, the suspect was inside the premises for several hours where they searched office spaces and turned the kitchen and storage areas upside down, but in an odd twist to the tale, not a single item was reported missing following the break-in. The suspect left the scene at approximately 5:00 a.m. on July 7, as shown on video.
The Philadelphia Police Department is seeking public assistance in identifying this individual; however, as of now, descriptions or potential motives have not been released. The department's outreach includes sharing the surveillance video footage with the public to glean any possible information.
Community members with any information are urged to come forward in this active investigation; those responding to the call are reminded of the integrity of this process and the importance, the police department is working closely with the affected business to investigate the unusual nature of the crime, given that there was extensive property damage yet an apparent lack of interest in tangible goods usually associated with such crimes. If you have any tips or information, Philadelphia Police are encouraging individuals to reach out and contribute to bringing the suspect to justice.
