
The Philadelphia Police Department is actively soliciting help from the public to apprehend a suspect implicated in the murder of 26-year-old Donald Jeffers. Jeffers, who lived on the 3000 block of Reese Street, was fatally shot on the 2400 block of North Reese Street last Sunday. Officers from the 26th District, responding to a shooting report at approximately 2:23 PM, found Jeffers with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead at 3:01 PM.
Arron J. Taylor, 43, of the 13XX East Sedgley Street, was arrested by Homicide detectives, who linked him to the crime through vehicle surveillance. Taylor was caught on camera operating the vehicle that both dropped off the shooter before the incident and picked him up afterward. Charges against Taylor include Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Criminal Conspiracy. Investigators have yet to identify the direct perpetrator of the shooting fully, and are now releasing images to the public in efforts to locate the assumed dangerous individual quickly.
According to a post published by the Philadelphia Police Department, the murder suspect is a Black male, estimated to be between 5’6″ and 5’8″ with a slim build, and aged roughly between 20 and 30 years. When the murder occurred, he was wearing a distinctive purple Jubba, a Muslim garment with several buttons, a black ski mask, and a black Pittsburgh Pirates baseball hat. This hat is uniquely decorated with an outline of the state of Pennsylvania and a bold yellow "P" coupled with the team name.
