The NWS advises drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned rooms, keeping out of the sun, and checking on relatives and neighbors. On top of the scorching daytime temperatures, the NWS also forecasts a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 PM tonight, which could bring slight relief but also may come with new precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the weather forecast suggests a slight dip in temperatures but with a continued chance of precipitation and thunderstorms. Saturday is expected to see partly sunny skies with a high near 89 degrees and northeast winds of 5 to 10 mph. As Saturday evening rolls in, the possibility of showers and thunderstorms increases, particularly after 2 AM, with mostly cloudy conditions and a low around 72 degrees.
Sunday's weather is likely to turn stormy, with showers and thunderstorms becoming more likely between 2 PM and 5 PM, and then possibly continuing after 5 PM. The chance of precipitation is 60%, with new rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except in areas affected by thunderstorms, where higher amounts are possible, as detailed by NWS.
As the new week begins, temperatures are set to rise again, with Monday expected to be mostly sunny and a high approaching 91 degrees.
