The Pierce County District Court, in collaboration with WorkSource and various service providers, is poised to host the Beyond Boundaries 2025 Summer Resource Fair. This community-focused event is slated for Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Resource Center on 925 Tacoma Avenue South, Tacoma, as stated on the county's official website.
Emphasizing inclusion and support, the fair invites the public to engage with over 20 local organizations that will offer a variety of services. These include housing assistance, help with obtaining identification and driver's licenses, legal and reentry support, alongside mental health, healthcare services, and job opportunities. The event goes beyond the essentials, providing haircuts, hygiene supplies, Native American services, free phones, financial literacy resources, education, energy assistance, support for individuals with disabilities, and clothing, among other necessities. The first 300 attendees can also expect free meals courtesy of Boss Mama's Kitchen and Lumpia Love, a gesture of community and care.
In a statement by Dom Hardeman, District Court Manager of Probation, the event's commitment to assistance was clear. "Our goal is to remove barriers and bring vital resources directly to those who need them most," Hardeman expressed, highlighting the collaboration with community leaders to create an accessible, one-stop event for critical resources, according to the Pierce County's announcement.
While pre-registration for the event is not mandatory, it is encouraged to facilitate planning and ensure that resources can be distributed efficiently to attendees. The Pierce County District Court, appreciated for its efforts to support the community, stands as the second largest District Court in Washington state and operates with a dedicated staff, including eight judges and one commissioner, at two locations in Tacoma.
