On Monday, a man, a passenger, and a dog were found in a Dodge truck that had gone off the OHV trail near Barker Pass and was at the edge of a cliff. Deputies responded with a Jeep and used its front bumper winch to pull the truck to safety. The truck later broke down again, and the deputies gave the individuals a ride home to the Tahoe City area, as stated by the Placer County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office on their Facebook page, deputies responded to an off-highway vehicle emergency on the Rubicon Trail using a Jeep Wrangler provided by California State Parks, which is regularly used for patrols and rescues in the area. The office posted, “Great work by Sergeant Wroobel and Deputy Staley!” They noted the importance of having proper equipment and trained personnel for operations in remote terrain.
