
The Plymouth Police Department provided a summary of their weekly activities spanning from June 29 to July 5, via a social media post that offered a glimpse into the law enforcement challenges in the region. Over the week, the department reported handling 851 incidents, which included 16 arrests and equal number of criminal complaints filed. Crashes were a recurring issue, with 50 motor vehicle accidents recorded. Traffic enforcement was also kept on toes with 46 traffic stops made.
Residential and commercial security seemed to be in constant check, having 30 house and building alarms responded to by the officers. Disturbances and suspicious activities accounted for a significant portion of their calls, with 30 and 31 instances respectively. The police also responded to 53 accidental 911 calls, a reminder of both technology's fallibility and the inherent human error intertwined within its use. For those in emotional or physical distress, officers conducted 64 medical, mental, or wellbeing checks, underlining the department's role in community care beyond criminal apprehensions.
