Breaking through the language barrier, Raleigh's Method Road Community Center is gearing up to offer a lifeline to adults starting their journey into English literacy. The center has unveiled a new Beginner English Class, geared towards those grappling with the fundamentals of the English language for the very first time. According to the City of Raleigh's announcement, the program is poised to serve as a guide for adults who have yet to learn the ABCs and further bridges the gap to acquiring everyday conversational English through engaging methods.
The 'Starting English Together' class invites adults who are beginners to the language, may not read or write in any language, and wish to build confidence and practical life skills. No prior knowledge of English is required, promising a welcoming environment for all attendees. As per details released by the City of Raleigh, the sessions will use a medley of fun activities, games, and hands-on practice to ease the learning process.
The free classes are an initiative to integrate non-English speakers into the community more effectively, offering them a toolset for everyday communication and engagement. They will be held at the Method Road Community Center on Mondays, from Sept. 8 to Oct. 27, between 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m., catering to an adult demographic aged 18 and older.
