Residents and commuters in Rancho Cordova can expect road improvements in the coming weeks as the city moves forward with the Baroque Traffic Calming Project. The project will add surface treatments, enhanced crosswalks, and upgraded bike lanes along the corridor. A mini roundabout will also be installed at the intersection of Kilgore Road and Baroque Drive. Temporary rolling closures are scheduled on Baroque Drive on Thursday and Friday. Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time and reduce speeds, according to the City of Rancho Cordova.

The City of Rancho Cordova has begun installing 44 solar-powered streetlights on W. La Loma Drive, La Loma Drive, and Dawes Street. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, this is the city’s first large-scale solar streetlight project. The work also includes traffic safety improvements such as bulb-outs, speed lumps, bike lanes, and new striping. A new mid-block crossing with rapid flashing beacons will also be added to provide safer pedestrian access.

Residents can stay updated on the progress of these projects by subscribing to the city’s e-newsletter. The projects, which include traffic calming measures and new streetlights, are scheduled for completion by the end of the summer, as reported by the City of Rancho Cordova.
