In an overnight sweep targeting illegal firearms and narcotics, San Jose Police officers made multiple arrests and took dangerous weapons off the streets. The Foothill Division of the San Jose Police Department (SJPD) conducted a vehicle stop just before 1 AM on a suspect known to be on probation. This action resulted in the discovery of two unregistered loaded handguns equipped with high-capacity magazines and additional ammunition, as was recounted in a social media post from the San Jose Police Department.

According to the same SJPD post, two individuals from the vehicle were arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on firearm-related charges. Continuing their operations, the SJPD dealt with another incident involving a reckless driver who attempted to flee. Despite the driver's escape attempt, officers found the abandoned car and soon after detained the suspect on foot.
The search didn't stop with the apprehension of the suspect. Police found illegal narcotics on the individual and close by; they recovered a discarded loaded "ghost" gun along with more ammunition. The suspect, already barred from owning firearms, faces jail time for the possession of narcotics and illegal weapons.
