Authorities are on the lookout for two women accused of assaulting a Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) employee in Brooklyn last Saturday, an incident that speaks to the increasing concern over transit worker safety. The attack happened on Saturday, around 1:15 p.m., at the New Lots "3" train station, located within the jurisdiction of the NYPD's 75th Precinct. According to the NYPD Crimestoppers' social media post, the victim, a 51-year-old on-duty employee, confronted one of the individuals for fare evasion.

Upon spotting a person attempting to sneak in through the turnstile without paying, the MTA worker intervened. It is reported that as she held the mezzanine door open, asking the fare evader to pay up, an accomplice tried to quickly slip through the same propped door. The pair then turned on the employee, assaulting her with punches to the face and body. The NYPD Crimestoppers' post describes the violence in detail: "The two unidentified individuals approached the 51-year-old female and began to punch her multiple times on the face and body." Adding to the assault, one of the assailants allegedly used a set of keys in the attack, inflicting minor lacerations on the victim.

The search for the perpetrators is ongoing, with the police urging anyone with information to come forward. In their plea for public assistance, the NYPD Crimestoppers post states: "Have any information? DM @nypdtips or call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477)."
