
The Sevierville Police Department recently elevated several of its own, with new supervisory promotions announced across various divisions, according to a social media post by the department.
In a statement, SPD Chief Joseph Manning expressed his confidence in the newly promoted officers, praising their dedication to the community and saying, "They embody the leadership principles and high standards that we have established at the Sevierville Police Department. I am confident that they will continue to excel in their new positions and assignments."
Among the promotions, Lieutenant Jamie Roberts ascended to the rank of captain and will command the Special Operations Division, which includes pivotal units such as K9, Traffic, Community Resource, SWAT, Crisis Negotiations, EOD, UAV, Honor Guard, and Special Events, Roberts, boasting 24 years of law enforcement experience retains his role as SWAT commander and is in the process of completing the Southeastern Leadership Academy while holding a Bachelor of Science in Police Administration from Eastern Kentucky University.
Sergeant Graham Brantley, who was promoted to lieutenant, is now in command of the Criminal Investigations Division, overseeing administrative investigations reporting to the Chief of Police, Lieutenant Brantley comes to the role with an educational background in Anthropology and a Master of Science in Pharmacology-Forensic Science from the University of Florida also being a certified UAV pilot and a graduate of the National Forensics Academy taps into 13 years of law enforcement experience.
The department is also recognizing Detective Spencer Powers with a promotion to sergeant, assigning him to Criminal Investigations, having 11 years of law enforcement experience and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Middle Tennessee State University, Sergeant Powers also serves with the Crisis Negotiations Unit.
