Six women from Maryland were arrested in Norwood last week after a reported break-in turned chase ensued, leading to a coordinated police effort that ended with each suspect in custody. Norwood Police Chief Christopher Padden lauded the collaboration between officers and partner agencies in apprehending the individuals, according to a social media post from the Norwood Police Department.

The incident began last Friday, when a report of a residential break-in at Neponset Street led police to the suspects who had allegedly entered a home and were discovered by the residents. Fleeing in a vehicle, the women were spotted by Officer Adam Osowski, sparking a brief pursuit that would quickly bring together officers from Norwood and neighboring jurisdictions.

During the arrest process, complications arose when two of the suspects were found to have obscured fingerprints, posing a challenge for identification. The Norwood Police worked in conjunction with Homeland Security Investigations to resolve the identities of all involved. The preliminary investigation suggests that these individuals could potentially be part of a larger network engaged in similar criminal activities across several states. It was reported that many of the suspects had outstanding warrants for their arrest due to similar offenses.

Chief Padden noted the significance of "outstanding police work, teamwork, and inter-agency coordination" that led to the "safe and successful apprehension of all six suspects." The case, which unfolded with arrests on Neponset Street and extended into the surrounding area, underscores connectivity and the resolve to act swiftly in the face of crime. Following their arraignment where three suspects were released on bail and taken into ICE custody, and two others attempting to post bail were similarly detained, the case continues to be actively investigated.

The Norwood Police Department encourages anyone with information about this group or related incidents to reach out. Detective Ryan Marchant has been specifically cited as a contact point, at 339-364-9632. While the suspects, their actions, and ensuing police efforts have drawn local attention, the department reminds that these are allegations, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
