Statesville Police Department has reported an arrest in the homicide case of D’Angelo Malindsay Barker, as shared in a recent social media post. On Tuesday, 33-year-old Darryl Davekio Jordan was taken into custody by the Statesville Police in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force in Huntersville, NC.
The arrest of Jordan, found and charged without incident, was for the murder of Barker after a reported shooting on June 14. Found with a fatal gunshot wound in the roadway, taken by officers, the victim was pronounced deceased despite the life-saving efforts of Iredell County EMS and local officers.
Authorities located Jordan, currently held at the Iredell County Detention Center without bond, and he awaits his first appearance in court. Details of the initial incident were outlined in a press release linked by the Statesville Police Department, which recounts officers responding to shots fired in the 100 block of East Allison Street, early on the Saturday morning of June 14.
