A statewide manhunt is underway following a violent incident that left a law enforcement officer seriously injured. The Burleson Police Department has sounded a BLUE ALERT as they search for 32-year-old Benjamin Hanil Song, identified as a key suspect in an organized ambush that targeted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and additional law enforcement in Alvarado last Friday. The Burleson Police Department, in a recent social media post, described Song as an Asian male, approximately 5'6" tall, with black hair and a weight of about 150 pounds.
The urgency of this manhunt reflects the risk officials believe Song poses to the public. Urging anyone who might come into contact with Song, the Burleson Police Department warned, "Do not approach. If seen, immediately call 911." Having been involved in the injuring of an officer, Song is considered dangerous.
The Burleson Police Department has asked for the community's assistance, pleading residents to share their posts with the hopes of garnering quick and actionable leads.
