The city is abuzz as Sterlingfest rolls into its second day, offering a smorgasbord of attractions for every age and taste in the heart of Sterling Heights. Dodge Park transforms into a hub of activity from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., packed with vibrant art, tantalizing eats, and melodies that promise to carry one through the day on a high note. And fair warning, in case Mother Nature decides to gatecrash, updates will be swiftly dispatched to their Event Hotline and via text alerts. Just shoot a message with STERLINGFEST to 24639 to stay in the loop, as per the City of Sterling Heights.
The Art Fair is where to artfully dodge the heat, open until 8 p.m., but if you're more of a thrill-seeker, the Midway is your ticket to ride until half-past ten. Families can quickly learn to potentially save a life with hands-only CPR training offered by SHFD from 10 a.m. until the clock strikes 3 p.m., so you can be prepared to step up heroically whenever duty calls.
But wait, there's more for the kiddos. The Genisys Credit Union Kidz Tent is a treasure trove of fun—music by Kevin Devine, animal encounters from The Reptarium, and high-flying antics by Nick Thomas, the juggler. For those of you whose interests swoop more towards the scaly or the airborne, there's an animal show at 1:30 p.m. and a juggler ready to amaze at 4:30 p.m. It's a packed lineup where boredom doesn't stand a chance.
Music lovers, get ready to be jazzed up or soothed with soulful blues on the aptly named Jazz & Blues Stage with acts like Quintessential and Motor City Josh & The Big Three. But that's not all; the Suds ‘n’ Sounds Stage is ready to serenade brew lovers with Jacob McLeod, Mobile Dueling Pianos, and wrap the night with The Persuasion Band. They carefully picked the lineup to undoubtedly entertain you throughout the festival day, capping off with that craftsman of country tunes, Collin Raye, who will grace the AT&T Main Stage at 8 p.m. followed by an enthralling Christian Financial Credit Union Drone Show at 9:30 p.m.
