Two Baltimore men are in custody following a traffic stop on Interstate 70 near Green Valley Road. According to FOX Baltimore, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted the stop around 11:40 p.m. on Monday after reports of a dark-colored Chevrolet Malibu driving without headlights and behaving erratically.

The situation escalated when deputies, having pulled over the vehicle, identified the driver as Willie James Robinson, 30, and the passenger, Deshawn Bishop Manning, 21, noticed a black Beretta 9mm handgun on the floorboard next to the passenger. Erratically driving at night without headlights, Robinson and Manning were found to have the stolen weapon, as detailed by Daily Voice. The deputies confirmed later that the gun was loaded with seven rounds and had been reported stolen.

Neither Robinson nor Manning had a permit to carry the firearm, with Manning being prohibited due to a past felony conviction, as reported. Following the seizure of the firearm, both suspects were arrested and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. Manning is now facing a slew of charges, including possession of a handgun on person and illegal possession of ammunition, among others.

Charges for Robinson include possession of a loaded handgun in a vehicle and possession of a stolen regulated firearm, the black Beretta 9mm pistol found next to him. The Frederick County Sheriff's Office has encouraged anyone with further information to contact them at 301-600-1046.
