The driver, described only as a man, was the vehicle's sole occupant when the crash occurred, and his identity had not been released as of the latest update.
Vehicle Left the Road Near Roxbury Road
Police say the 2017 Subaru Forester was traveling westbound on Dorsey Mill Road near Roxbury Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree. According to WBFF, the crash was reported at approximately 1 p.m. Wednesday, though Howard County Police pinpointed the dispatch time to 1:06 p.m. in their official release. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dorsey Mill Road was temporarily closed between Roxbury Road and Old Mill Road while officers investigated, police said. The closure lasted about three hours as crews worked to clear the scene and document the collision. The investigation remains ongoing, and no cause for the crash — whether related to speed, a medical emergency, mechanical failure, weather, or impairment — has been disclosed.
