Union County's third Junior Sheriff’s Academy of 2025 has ended. The Union County Sheriff's Office in Monroe, NC, shared on social media that the week-long program gave local youth a chance to learn about law enforcement through hands-on activities, as reported by the Union County Sheriff's Office.
The graduation ceremony was a significant moment for the students, who gained a better understanding of the role of law enforcement. Two students, Quinn Smith and Ethan Cisternas, were chosen to speak on behalf of their peers and share their thoughts on the program. "Their remarks showcased the impact the academy has on building leadership, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of public service," the Union County Sheriff's Office’s announcement stated. This reflects the Sheriff's Office's ongoing efforts to engage with and inspire the community's youth.
According to the Union County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, the Junior Sheriff’s Academy helps build trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the community by giving students a better understanding of public service.
