In Vallejo, a repeat offender found himself back in custody after police apprehended him with a stolen gun, a stolen car, and tools for committing further thefts. The Vallejo Police Department informed the public of the arrest through a social media post detailing the events.

On the evening of July 18, officers noted a black Dodge Charger obstructing Overland Alley. The car, sporting illegal window tint and missing a front license plate, hastily attempted to reverse down the alley upon the officers' approach, driven by a masked figure seemingly aware of the police presence. Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop when the driver, with emergency lights and siren blaring behind him, chose instead to lead a pursuit. The chase escalated, with the suspect facing oncoming traffic on Interstate 80, before being stopped by a precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver.

A search of the vehicle turned up a loaded firearm with an illegally high-capacity magazine, concealed under the driver's seat, subsequently identified as stolen from Concord. The suspect's backpack contained devices and tools commonly associated with auto theft, hinting at a broader criminal involvement. In addition to being out on bail for previous offenses, including a Vallejo pursuit and an incident involving an officer from the Berkeley Police Department, the suspect now faces multiple felony charges involving the stolen firearm and car, and felony evasion.

Prior to the successful PIT maneuver, the malefactor led police on a dangerous detour off Georgia Street, which ended the high-speed chase. The suspect, an Oakland resident, was driving a stolen Dodge Charger and did not have a valid driver’s license. Authorities also discovered that the rear license plate belonged to a different stolen vehicle.
