Vallejo law enforcement officers pulled over a Honda Civic last week due to a missing front license plate, only to uncover a string of violations ranging from identity deception to illegal possession of a firearm. According to a social media post from the Vallejo Police Department, the incident took place in the 600 block of Basalt Drive, where two brothers, the driver and passenger of the vehicle, attempted to deceive officers with false identities during last Friday's traffic stop.

Despite their efforts to conceal their identities, a records check quickly revealed the farce. The driver had given his brother's name, perhaps hoping to obscure his status as a convicted felon with an already suspended driver’s license. The passenger chose to fabricate not only a name but also a date of birth, in an attempt likely to evade an active warrant for his arrest on domestic violence charges originating from Vallejo. Ironically, the driver admitted he thought his brother had a "squeaky clean record," an assumption that fell apart when his brother's warrant for arrest came to light.

The situation escalated when officers, upon searching the vehicle, found an unregistered firearm. Both brothers denied any knowledge of the weapon. The discovery of the firearm, combined with the provided false identification, resulted in the arrest of both men. They were subsequently booked into the Solano County Jail, facing numerous charges.

The Vallejo Police Department's post informed that the brothers were charged with possession of a firearm and providing officers with false identification.
