In a determination that spans a decade, a man has been arrested for a sexual assault that took place in the Town of Yountville. The Napa County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of 37-year-old Kyle Joseph Robinson of Louisa, Virginia, for a 2015 rape. According to the social media post from the Napa County Sheriff's Office, detectives flew to Virginia last Saturday, where they worked with the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office to apprehend Robinson.
Robinson, who until recently lived relatively undisturbed some 3,000 miles from the site of the alleged crime, is now facing multiple felony charges, including rape and sodomy of both unconscious and intoxicated victims. Napa County Sheriff's detectives, dedicated to seeing justice served despite the years that had elapsed, managed to secure a hit on Robinson's DNA profile after additional testing. He has been booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on a $500,000 bail arrest warrant. He notably waived his state extradition rights to expedite the process of returning him to California quickly.
Robinson's arrest sheds a new light on a case that had previously targeted another individual. According to a social media post from Henry K. Lee, this latest development exonerates the initial suspect who was eyed in the case. Robinson is connected to the assault of a woman who was in Yountville a decade ago to attend a wedding, and at the time, he was a guest at the home where the assault occurred.
