Wake Forest is hosting a comic book event at the Flaherty Park Community Center on August 23. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include activities and vendor stalls for attendees of all ages.
In what is shaping up to quickly become a sanctuary for the nerdy by reputation, over 30 vendors will be there, eager to share their collections of comics, anime, toys, and collectibles. It’s not just a chance to score some cool merch—this is an opportunity for the community to engage, to share passions, and to create connections under the shared banner of fandom. The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, along with Brandon Wright of Play4Life Comics, are pulling all stops to make this a memorable day. This collaboration was reported earlier today on the Town of Wake Forest website, promising an event that's both free of charge and family-friendly.
The event offers more than just shopping—it also provides a chance to learn about the comic book industry, with information for both longtime fans and newcomers. Wake Forest Comic-Con will feature panels, artist signings, and a variety of activities for all ages.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy everything the event has to offer. According to Play4Life Comics' Brandon Wright, the goal is to bring people together to enjoy comics and related content in a community setting.
