Wake up, Wake Forest—Brick Street's getting a new coat. If you're planning on cruising through the town's historic artery this coming Monday, you might want to reroute. According to an announcement from the Town of Wake Forest, motorists will hit a roadblock on Brick Street as it closes for paving from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The stretch between North White Street and Brewer Avenue will be a no-go zone as Blythe Construction and Fulford & Jones lay down some fresh asphalt. Wake Forest officials are putting up signs and planting flaggers to keep the traffic puzzle manageable, but brace yourself for some delays.
The 2025 Road Resurfacing Project in Wake Forest is targeting 15 streets for improvements. The project began with concrete work in February and moved to asphalt paving in June. It includes road repairs, pothole patching, curb and gutter upgrades, and replacing black ADA ramps with yellow mats to meet national standards.
The goal is to create smoother, safer, and more accessible roads for all residents. The work is funded by the 2022 Wake Forest Bond Referendum. Motorists are encouraged to avoid construction areas when possible.
