The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission, a body tasked with setting policy for the state's Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), is scheduled to host a virtual meeting this coming Friday, according to a recent release. The agenda for the brief two-hour session, running from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., will focus on the northern spotted owl's recovery efforts as well as nominations for Chair and Vice Chair positions, as per a statement made by the WDFW.
The WDFW, which commits itself to the preservation, protection, and perpetuation of Washington's fish, wildlife, and their habitats, also looks to ensure recreational and commercial opportunities sustainably. As the nominating process unfolds in this virtual gathering, the actual voting on the new Chair/Vice Chair positions is set for the Commission's August meeting.
For those interested in the proceedings or topics being discussed, live attendance details are available on the Commission’s meeting webpage. To support transparency, a recording of the meeting will also be posted there for people to watch at their convenience.
