Washington State Patrol is actively seeking witnesses and information regarding a homicide that occurred last Thursday, near Ellingson on NB SR 167; a silver Toyota Prius was found incapacitated against the road barrier, its driver suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
The initial 9-1-1 call, placed at approximately 7:25 pm, described the sound of gunshots followed by the sight of the Prius colliding with the barrier and resting finally on the right shoulder, as detailed in the official statement by the Washington State Patrol released last Saturday. The same witness believed that two other vehicles, a silver Scion or Subaru sedan and a red SUV, were in proximity to the Prius at the time of the shooting, but did not see the shots fired.
As the sole occupant of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene due to multiple gunshot wounds, detectives are urging the public to come forward with any relevant information or dashcam footage that may shed light on the circumstances preceding the violent act, events surrounding the homicide are yet to be fully understood and the contribution from eyewitnesses could be critical for the investigation.
