
A serious injury accident occurred at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Grape Street in the Park West neighborhood, reported by the San Diego Police Department (SDPD). The incident involved a 92-year-old pedestrian and a 78-year-old female driver, which took place last night, the SDPD confirmed.
According to the SDPD Watch Commander's Log, the male pedestrian was crossing from west to east when he was struck by the female, driving a 2020 Honda Accord sedan heading south on 6th Avenue. Suffering a life-threatening brain contusion, the elderly man was lucky not to require surgery. In the aftermath of the accident, the intersection was soon a site where Traffic Division officers, investigating the collision, converged.
The authorities have ruled out DUI as a factor in this tragic event. The Watch Commander, Officer Buttle, stated that the Traffic Division handles the investigation. The SDPD urges anyone with information about this collision to contact the department or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
