The Arizona Department of Economic Security is opening the floor for public input on the upcoming energy assistance strategy. Arizonans will have a say in the Draft Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) State Plan for the federal fiscal year 2026, as per the Arizona Department of Economic Security. This initiative is aimed at supporting those who struggle with their power bills amid sweltering summers and unexpectedly chilly winters. Interested parties have exactly one month, starting August 20, to review the provisions of the LIHEAP and provide their thoughts and feedback.
In a document formally presented by ADES, the public is invited to dissect the tentative action plan, designed to ease the burden of high energy costs on low-income households. Citizens can submit their written comments to Christine Shall, the Acting Emergency Services Program Manager at ADES, until 5:00 pm on September 19.
The email for submission is [email protected], and these submissions should bear the contributor’s contact information, as well as any affiliated organization name. For those desiring to peruse the LIHEAP draft and contribute to shaping Arizona's support strategies, the full plan, along with submission details, can be found on the ADES website.
