The Arlington Police Department has recently arrested two individuals in connection with a cold-case homicide from 2003. The two men, identified as Raymond Malone, 55, and John Wayne Biddle, 52, each face one count of murder in the death of Terrick Rutherford, who was fatally shot after a confrontation outside a nightclub over two decades ago, as reported by the Arlington Police Department.
On the night of June 23, 2003, emergency responders came upon a chaotic scene, where a pickup truck perforated with bullet holes contained Rutherford struggling for life though tragically, he was declared dead at a local hospital from the sustained gunshot wounds, two men long suspected by authorities but only now charged named Malone and Biddle, they were captured by the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force in Fort Worth, firstly Mr. Biddle last Thursday without incident, followed by Mr. Malone's apprehension also without incident last Friday, indicates the timeline of events shared by the Arlington Police Department.
As part of the original investigation, witnesses recalled an altercation at the nightclub on N. Watson Road that eventually spilled into the parking lot; Rutherford left the establishment, was driving northbound when his vehicle was bombarded with gunfire at the traffic light intersection at Six Flags Drive. The initial probe put Malone and Biddle, known gang affiliates, on detectives' radar, yet insufficient evidence back then meant they were only charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, charges that seemingly went nowhere as both were later 'no billed' on those charges.
