On the table are decisions concerning public safety improvements, transportation, park development, better accessibility options, upgraded libraries, and more. The Task Force's goal is to listen to and learn from community input, which will inform how Aurora addresses the capital projects necessary to support and maintain the city's infrastructure amid ongoing growth.
The survey, hosted at EngageAurora.org/BuildUpAurora, enables residents to voice their priorities, needs, and preferences. This extension not only affords more time but also represents the city's commitment to composing a future that resonates with the hopes of its inhabitants. Reflecting on Build Up Aurora's initial focus, "the city addressing a top priority of residents—transportation and roadways—by improving the condition of Aurora’s residential streets in the worst condition," as obtained by the City of Aurora. The extended deadline seeks to fortify engagement, ensuring that every voice can contribute to the shaping of Aurora's economic health and quality of life.
Since May, the task force has sought direct community engagement at various events. Representatives have spoken with the people at farmers’ markets, town meetings, and soon at the Havana Street Night Market on August 30 and the Town Center at Aurora's Mallapalooza on September 13 and 14. The effort is to solicit as diverse a collection of viewpoints as possible, thereby crafting an infrastructural strategy that reflects a wide swath of Aurora's populace.
