Weather enthusiasts, brace yourselves for a bout of atmospheric flip-flopping. According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, there's a warm front making its way north today with a cold front hot on its heels, due to plow through late tonight and into Wednesday. High pressure swooping in come Thursday and sticking around until the weekend when another low-pressure system decides to crash the party. To dive into the meteorological minutiae, you can check out the full forecast on the NWS Cleveland's website.

The NWS also cautions for storms today with the potential to possibly go severe — specifically gusty winds being the main gripe. "Overall confidence in any weather becoming severe is pretty low given the overall weak forcing and early convection," the NWS expressed, but still decided to throw a spotlight on a "Marginal Risk" for severe weather in areas from I75 to just east of I77 and south. Highs are expected to hit the low to mid-80s, providing a perfect playground for convection lovers to potentially, albeit not eagerly, enjoy.

As the cold front shows up tonight, anticipate a parade of showers and possible thunder rumbles. These will taper off by Wednesday, with the Cleveland area witnessing temperatures dip to a more temperate mid to upper 70s. When it comes to overnight lows, grab the extra blankets, as readings are set to fall into the mid-60s, and even lower in northwest Pennsylvania.

The week's forecast isn't without its sunny side. High pressure is set to be the region's new best friend from Wednesday night all the way through Friday night, promising a spell of dry days with temperature highs gracefully climbing back up into the low to mid-80s by Friday. And while Saturday is gearing up to bring the heat with mid to upper 80s, a new low-pressure system and cold front aim to introduce showers and thunderstorms later in the day, so make sure to plan your weekend escapades accordingly, or risk getting caught in an unwelcome downpour.

For the mariners out there, the Lake Erie waters are being nudged by weak low pressure today and tonight, spurring southerly winds of about 10 knots that will amp up to 15 knots as they pivot to the northwest later on. A heads up for Wednesday through Thursday: there's a "near guarantee that a small craft advisory and beach hazard statement will be needed," as noted by NWS forecaster Saunders, courtesy of an anticipated strengthening to around 20 knots. Calmer conditions are on tap for Thursday night and Friday, thanks to that well-timed high pressure. Keep a tight grip on those sails, folks.
