Authorities are piecing together the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body found at the base of a cliff in Palos Verdes Estates, sources reported on Monday. According to KTLA, the Los Angeles County Fire Department crews were called to the 1400 block of Paseo Del Mar on Saturday, before 10:00 a.m., where witnesses first reported the sight of the body, assumed to be that of a male.
Recovery efforts were conducted by Los Angeles County Fire Department lifeguards who assisted in removing the body from the rough terrain below the cliff, as detailed by a CBS News Los Angeles report. Meanwhile, the individual's identity remains unreleased, and the Palos Verdes Estates Police have confirmed that no missing persons reports matching the description have been filed in the area.
The role of the L.A. County Coroner in this unsettling finding was to transport the body for further examination to aid in determining the cause of death, a fact shared by both KTLA and CBS News Los Angeles. Yet, the officials have to confirm whether the demise of the individual was a result of nefarious means or a tragic misstep.
Adding to the understanding of the incident, NBC Los Angeles reported further details of the recovery, stating that the body was hoisted from the bottom of the cliff after the collaborative efforts of the LA County Fire and LA County Lifeguards. While the investigations into the nature of this death are ongoing, authorities have yet to identify the body, leaving the community in quiet suspense, waiting for answers.
