In a gesture aimed at fostering community ties, officers from the Boston Police Department's District E-5 paid a visit to the local Children's Happy Day Preschool. The event, held to facilitate a meet and greet, provided an opportunity for children to interact with law enforcement officials in a friendly, informal setting. According to the Boston Police Department's news release, Captain Hegarty was present along with the Community Service Office’s officers.
Making the day more enjoyable, BPD brought along their Ice Cream Truck, much to the delight of the youngsters. They had the chance to chat with kids about the school year ahead while sharing ice cream, a treat funded by the Boston Police Foundation’s COP Fund and HP Hood. The preschool staff extended a heartfelt welcome to the visiting officers, a gesture that underscores the significance of building positive relationships between the police and community.
Acknowledging the success of the outreach, the police department expressed gratitude towards the preschool staff and students. "A big thank you to the preschool staff and students for the warm welcome," the news release stated, emphasizing the cordial atmosphere of the event.
