Boston's historic Faneuil Hall Marketplace is about to get a little sweeter with the addition of Bakey, a bakery chain with Middle Eastern roots that's gearing up to open its doors on Friday. This fifth installment, nestled in the bustling Quincy Market, will be serving up a variety of baked goods known to be favorites, including babka, burekas, and challah. According to a statement obtained by a local blog, Bakey is poised to become a unique fixture for Bostonians, with its signature Boston Cream Babka offered year-round.
Uri Scheft, co-founder of Bakey and renowned for his work with Lehamim Bakery in Israel and Breads Bakery in New York, is the baking maestro behind this venture. The much-anticipated grand opening promises an array of warm pastries for sampling, and the first 300 guests will be treated, to a free cookie. As reported by Faneuil Hall Marketplace's official website, this location will exclusively carry the Boston Cream Babka—a nod to the official dessert of Massachusetts, complete with pastry cream filling and cloaked in chocolate ganache.
Those eager to check out Bakey's latest venue can find it situated at 4 S Market Street, where it joins the family of existing locations that have attracted patrons in Boston Common, Cambridge's Kendall Square, Brookline, and Newton. The upcoming grand opening event, set for 10 am to 11 am on Friday, allows attendees to kickstart their day with the scents and tastes of freshly baked treats.
